Phuket International Airport

As mentioned earlier, plans for a new Phuket International Airport aimed to have the airport operational by the end of 2025. It connects Phuket to Phang Nga and Krabi aiming to serve all three destinations. 

This new airport costs around 5.8 billion baht (approximately 1.8 billion USD). It was intended to ease air traffic congestion and support tourism growth in the entire Andaman Coast region.

Phuket as a Digital Hub

Phuket presents itself as a digital hub in Thailand.  As remote work is rising, the island is attracting digital nomads and entrepreneurs with its beautiful beaches, affordable living costs and strong internet connectivity.  Patong Municipality even proposed a budget to support and develop co-working spaces and other digital infrastructure. 

The focus on digitalization also benefits home investors and rentals. More people choose Phuket for remote work and the demand is increasing continuously for long-term rentals and co-living spaces making Phuket an attractive location for property investment.

Water Conservation in Phuket

In response, Phuket is rolling out new highways. Highways 402 and 4027 along with the harbor underpass are set to ease the flow of cars and buses. The roads will also link to the new Phuket International Airport making your trips smoother.
