Peranakannitat Museum, a yellow building located on Phang Nga Road, Talat Yai, Phuket Town. The museum is one of the well-known tourist sites and it has become a landmark in Old Phuket Town. The Peranakannitat Museum is set inside what used to be the old ‘Standard Chartered Bank’, the first bank in Phuket founded in 1909 during the reign of King Rama when Phuket was a central business province. Nowadays, It has evolved into a museum and learning center showcasing Phuket's way of life, arts, culture, and history. Unlike other museums, the Peranakannitat Museum has various exhibits in 6 different rooms. Apart from these exhibitions, the visitors may as well stroll across the street to the opposite building to see an exhibition on the origin of the Old Phuket Town. There are displays with line drawings and animations dating from the Thon Buri period through King Rama VI's reign.The Peranakannitat Museum opens everyday except Mondays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
