Min Buri was initially one of Bangkok's provinces during the reign of King Rama 5 in 1902, and it was regarded as the outstanding region for the abundance of fish, hence why the original meaning of Min Buri, which means "The city of fish." However, due to Thailand's economic downturn in 1931, Min Buri was dissolved and merged with Phra Nakhon Province, disrated from provincial to district level. Following the merger of Phra Nakhon and Thon Buri Provinces into Bangkok in 1972, Amphoe Min Buri was renamed Khet Min Buri. Min Buri has recently changed, and the real estate market has also changed positively as agricultural areas have been reduced and largely replaced by housing projects. In Min Buri, on the other hand, the real estate market includes housing estates, commercial buildings, numerous small and large businesses, and industrial estates. Aside from that, the trade center is Minburi Market, which is also home to a number of well-known educational institutions, public parks, and museums. As a result, Min Buri is now regarded as a comprehensive residential area with a wide range of amenities available to meet the needs of the residents.
